Product Reviews of Mark of Fitness MF-20 Aneroid Self-Taking Sphygmomanometer with StethoscopeProduct Review: Basic manual blood pressure monitor Summary: 4 Stars
This is a very basic manual blood pressure monitor, no bells and whistles. It appears to be accurate. I have compared blood pressure readings with other manual and automatic monitors, and they continue to be the same (or close to the same). I like that it is self-contained with the attached stethoscope. It helps with proper placement on the arm. I should note that I have been taking blood pressures for the last 20+ years, so ease of use is more natural for me. However, when I showed my dad how to use this monitor, it was not as easy for him. He preferred an automatic inflate blood pressure monitor, and never wanted to use this monitor again.
Product Review: Don't bother Summary: 1 Stars
The sphygmomanometer (bulb and cuff) is useable, but the stethoscope is hard to use, and hurts my ears. The cuff is attached to the drum portion of the stethoscope, and I can't seem to get it positioned right. Further, the sound level is too low to get a practical reading. Overall, this is not useful. Bottom line is spend a little more and get a digital unit if you want to take your own blood pressure. If you have a better stethoscope and already know how to use it, then this is a cheap way to get a sphygmomanometer, I suppose. This is NOT a good choice for a patient for self testing.
Product Review: Price is right, but not that convenient Summary: 3 Stars
The price for the equipment is great, but the stethoscope cannot be utilized seperately from the sphygmomanometer, so that is somewhat inconvenient. Its not the best quality cuff, but the price is right if you are just using it to learn.
