Product Review: Practical Ear Plugs

As one user suggested, these earplugs are most effective if rolled into elongated cylinder shapes, stuck length-wise into the ear canal, and molded on the outside (to look roughly like a mushroom). The packaging advises against such usage, but I have been using them this way for quite some time, and have never had any problems with getting the silicone plugs stuck in my ears. This way, the outside of the plug goes flush against your pillow, and discomfort while sleeping is minimized. I am a light sleeper who wakes very easily, and I use these when traveling, or any time I am sleeping near people who are on a different schedule from me. The other foam ear plugs may provide a higher decibel-level protection for some activities, but I have never been able to sleep with them in because they tend to be very uncomfortable, and irritate my ears when I rest them against the pillow. These ones are malleable and can be molded to fit any ear, and given a proper seal, provide quite good noise reduction and are quite comfortable to wear. I had these in while walking around the airport recently and picked up certain frequencies better than others. I was able to isolate certain sounds, like a nearby conversation, for instance. It's true that you will be able to hear your own heartbeat and breath with great sensitivity when these are in as well. I also used plugs very much like these (if not these same ones) when swimming as a child, with tubes in my ears which had to be kept dry.Product Review: Provides great sound muffling and comfort

I found these work great to significantly muffle the sound of my husband snoring, the dog barking, and all the others things that used to keep me awake. Nothing on the market totally blocks ALL sound (I've tried them all!) but these mute them to an acceptable level providing you make sure you get a good seal. Try humming while you put them in and you can easily tell the difference between a total seal or not. Unlike other plugs they are very comfortable to wear during sleep. I only get two or three nights use out of each pair, but after years of little to no sleep I will gladly purchase all I need to of these to get some much needed rest! I purchased a two pair sample pack at my local pharmacy and now have a handy little travel container to put a couple of pair in when I travel. They work great for my children also when we are traveling and they have to sleep in a hotel room with their dad snoring in the next bed.Product Review: Save your love life, rest quiet

My husband snores, which is not unusual or earth shattering, but 20 years of bad sleep is not a recipe for joy or happiness. I have solved our dilemma with these specific ear plugs. Other ear plugs are smaller and scratchier. These are the softest and most sound blocking ear plugs I have come across. I use them all the time, especially when we travel. They are even handy if one person wants to watch TV and the other doesn't. It doesn't deaden the noise totally, but definitely mutes it to an acceptable level. I have been using these for over 10 years. Other foam plugs don't even compare. They are so comfortable and really block out most noise. I always travel with them, especially when I am sharing a room with someone. When I went to a retreat last summer, I brought several boxes with me. I was the most popular person in the entire group at bedtime. I was amazed at how well these earplugs worked. For the first time I was able to sleep through the night without being constantly woken up by the loud snores of my boyfriend. As long as you wear these properly, surrounding noises will be greatly reduced. My only complaint about this product is that the plugs are kind of difficult and annoying to put in. Besides that, absolutely FABULOUS.
