Our 8 year old has had serious problems with his ear. Our Otolaryngologist, who is also the Chair of the Department of Pediatric Otolaryngology at a well-respected academic children's hospital, recommended the ear-dryer to keep the ears healthy through the summer swim/beach-season. So far, it seems to be helping to maintain a dry and healthy ear. It's compact, quiet and a snap to use. Well worth the investment if your child has experienced any ear-health issues. Evidently this can be purchased at local specialty surf-shops, but I found it easier to click and order online.

this is the best product for drying your ears after scuba diving. It would also be very beneficial for parents of small children, for drying their ears after swimming or washing hair...prevention of ear infections. Drops to put in ears after swimming have limited effect and doctors do not recommend the drops after saltwater or chemically treated pools.

After two infections which took my daughter out of water polo practice we decided to try this dryer. (Who wants their kids on round after round of antibiotics). I am happy to report that it does work. No infections since she started using the dryer. She uses it right on the pool deck when she is done swimmming for the night. At first her teammates and the coach laughed at the 80's looking cell phone object pressed to her ear, however now other girls ask to use it and the coach understands that he won't be laughing if she gets another ear infection and he loses a valuable player! I highly reccommend this product.
