Product Reviews of Mack's DreamgirlTM Foam Ear Plugs - 10-pair BoxProduct Review: May be too small Summary: 3 Stars
For the past few months, I've been using another brand of foam earplugs (Hearos, rated 32) to block out noise at night, but thought I'd give these a try. The Hearos do a very good job of blocking out noise, but I've found them a bit big--after a while, my ears aren't comfortable, so I go from side to side during the night. Also, the Hearos make my ears itch. The Mack's Dreamgirl earplugs are more comfortable (perhaps because they're a bit shorter and thinner) and don't make my ears itch, but they also don't block out much noise. I tried them for two nights in a row, putting them in, removing them, then putting them back in several times in case I wasn't positioning them correctly. I think they're just too small for my ears. Since I'm a normal-size woman with average-size ears, I don't think that should be happening. Unfortunately, I can't really use these since they don't block out the noise for me, but I'm still glad I tried them, because I discovered that not all foam earplugs itch. I'm going to try the larger size Mack's with the higher sound rating and see how they do. If these had fit me and worked, I would have given them 5 stars, but because they didn't (and should have), I'm only giving them 3.
Product Review: Ouch Summary: 2 Stars
I am a normal-size woman who is very sensitive to sound, but either my ear canals are extra-small or just extra-sensitive. I've tried lots of other earplugs and I was hoping so much that these would be the ones for me. Alas, they're great for about a half-hour, but then I start to feel like my ear canal is being pulled apart until the pain becomes too excruciating to bear. I am hoping they make earplugs for kids so I can give those a try; I am at my wit's end at work with the terrible sounds my co-workers make, especially one troll who cracks and pops her gum all day. I also find it quite silly that these earplugs are pink -- they're for women, not Barbie dolls.
