I was introduced to this product because my grandparents were told by their doctor to get a machine so they could monitor their own blood pressures. When the got this particular machine, they called me to come over and make sure they were using it correctly since I am in the medical field.The machine itself was pretty easy to understand what to do and the directions were pretty clear. The only problem I had was that the bulb that you have to inflate proved to be extremely difficult for my grandparents to use because of the arthritis in their hands. This meant that either I had to take it or my grandmother had to inflate the cuff with one hand while the cuff was placed on the other arm. This posed her with some questions about the reliability of the readings.
While this may seem like a pretty simple machine to operate, if you have any hand problems, this is probably not the machine for you.
Description of Mabis 04-203-001 Digital Manual Blood Pressure Monitor
This device makes monitoring both blood pressure and pulse easy. Just strap on the comfortable cuff, push a button, and squeeze the inflation bulb to achieve the proper inflation level. (A step-by-step operating guide accompanies the device.) As the cuff deflates, reliable pressure and pulse readings appear on a large, easy-to-read digital display. Use the memory feature to display previous readings for easy reference. The cuff fits arms from 9-1/2 to 12-5/8 inches in circumference, and cuffs for arms of other sizes are available from Mabis.
