COMPACT. Slightly Larger & Thicker Than a Credit Card. The Lumiscope 2018 Electronic Fever Thermometer is a digital thermometer tht is compact, fast, accurate and easily used orally or under the arm. Slide switch to desired mode: "F"-Fahrenheit or "C"-Celsius. Press On/Off button. Display shows 188.8 to indicate battery is operational. F or C then flashes. An L means the environmental temperature is below 89.6 degrees F. An H means the environmental temperature is above 111.26 degrees F. Insert probe beneath tongue or under armpit. For oral measurement, close lips gently, not biting the probe. For axillary measurement, hold infant's or child's arm snuggly against the body. In about one minute, the unit displays the highest digital thermometer reading measured. Beeps when peak temperature is reached. No risk of broken glass or mercury poisoning. No "shake down" required. Easily tolerated by infants or children with ear infections. (Ear thermometers require tugging ears to properly position the sensor.) Features: Probe Covers NOT required: Sanitize Probe with Alcohol Wipe. Optional probe covers available (HH-LUM 2020). Fits most digital and glass thermometers. Measurement range: 89.6 degrees to 111.2 degrees F (32 degrees to 44 degrees C). Accuracy: +- 0.2 degrees F (+-0.1 degrees C). Resolution: 0.1 degrees F (0.1 degrees C). Operating environment: 60.8 degrees to 104 degrees F (16 degrees to 40 degrees C). ABS resin body: no broken glass or mercury hazards. Response time: approximately 60 seconds. Auto power off. Memory function: Saves last reading. Low battery indicator. Water Resistant. Power source: 1.5V Button Battery (LR-44). Dimensions: 3.75" long x 1.75" wide x .50" thick.
