Product Reviews of Lumbar Extender Back StretcherProduct Review: A spine so open, you can fight crime! Summary: 4 Stars
My father was diagnosed recently with Degenerative Disc Disorder and has been placed on a steady regimen of selective traction. Well that simply won't do. I called up my uncle Amazon to see what he might have to help my pop. Low and behold the lumbar extender back stretcher. It's been a life saver. Not only has it opened up the spaces between the discs in his spinal column, reducing pain, but now his spine dorsiflexes, enabling him to bend in half both ways. Now that he's so bendy he fights crime. He's known as the Chartreuse Marauder. Evildoers beware!
Product Review: Almost a miracle device... Summary: 5 Stars
First, I am 59, about 165, and 5-8 tall. Typical lower back pain...degenerative disk disease, stenosis, and a bit of scoliosis, and some right-butt numbing sciatica. My back pain has steadily increased over the years to the point that I had to "do something."
I got this unit about a month ago. I've used it only on the lowest setting twice a day for almost that entire month...I had to miss a few days due to travel. Happy to report that I could tell a difference in the pain the first week, and like another user reports, the more you use it, the better the pain gets.
For some reason, some noticable pain is experienced during the period shortly after using the device. But, I do it first thing in the morning, and by the time I get to work, that pain has dissipated.
As I said, it's on the lowest setting, and the position I use is for maximum stretch -- legs straight, and arms up over the head. It's important to try and relax all of the muscles during that time, and slowly I've learned to do so. I may try the 2nd setting sometime soon.
It's funny...but, when I started, I could feel a specific spot of pain in my lower right back, which radiated to that occasional right-butt sciatica. Now that I've been using the device, that spot has moved to the left side, and is more of a dull ache rather than pain. I can only assume that as my back is stretched and straightend (perhaps?) a bit, the nerves are lining up differently as well.
I use it again before bed at night.
In any case, I can vouch for the fact that I feel better, and I am extremely thankful I found this.
Product Review: Awesome product Summary: 5 Stars
If you sit at a desk for all day at work you spine takes a toll on you upper and lower back. I use it everyday when I get home from work. It is very realaxing feeling have all the muscles in your back stretch. It think it may also be helping with my bad posture from sitting at a desk all day. Fantastic Product!
Product Review: Best Ever Summary: 5 Stars
This is the best ever. I've tried several different products to help relieve back pain and this is by far the easiest with the best results. It only takes a few minutes to stretch out and then relax the muscles. It is reasonalby easy to assemble and disassemble so you can take it with you when you travel.
Product Review: Caution!!! May cause injury. Summary: 5 Stars
I was happily using this product on a daily basis for about three months and noticed that I started getting a pain in the middle of my back. After consulting my chiropractor, he told me that I had pushed one of my thoracic vertebra out of position. It has actualy been pushed inward. Now I have to kick my feet over my head daily to try to move it back into position. I have a smaller frame than most and for me, this piece of equipment hits right in the middle of my back. It would be nice if this product had a smaller size to just do the lower lumbar region. So although it feels great to use this product, only use it on your lower back and use it with extreme caution.
