The UT-202 Instant Read Ear Thermometer has a unique and attractive lightweight design that provides a fast, accurate and easy way to take a temperature through the ear. Its unique pen shape allows for a gentle and safe method to obtain a temperature reading. A temperature reading (Fahrenheit or Celsius) is provided in just one second (scans the ear 512 times per second)! The UT-202 does not require a protective lens cover and its waterproof tip can be easily cleaned with water or rubbing alcohol. Research indicates that the ear is an ideal site for taking body temperature. The eardrum shares blood vessels with the hypothalamus, the part of the brain that regulates body temperature. Therefore, the ear is an accurate indicator of internal body temperature. Since ear thermometers are designed to receive information from the ear, it is a very safe method for measuring temperature and can be used on children of all ages. The ear thermometer also displays the last taken temperature when powered-on, operates on one 3-volt lithium battery (approximately 5,000 uses) and will automatically turn off after one minute of non-use. The UT-202 comes complete with a protective carrying case for safe storage, trilingual instruction manual (English, French and Spanish) and quick start card.
