Product Review: Great tool to identify and zap lice

I purchased the Robi Comb (along with Nix lice-killing shampoo) on the day that I discovered that my family had lice. It is easy to use -- you put in a AA battery, turn it on and it hums as electricity goes through the closely-spaced metal teeth. You then comb it through dry hair very thoroughly. When a critter gets in its path, it stops humming and there is a dead or dying bug lying across the teeth. Remove the louse and the hum returns. It doesn't kill the eggs (and unless you are extremely thorough, you may miss few lice) so we also used Nix lice-killing shampoo and a nit comb. The instructions on the shampoo say to wait a week (apparently lice-killing shampoo doesn't kill all the eggs and so they may hatch in the meantime). During the week I would run the Robi Comb through everyone's hair every day and sometimes would catch a few small lice. We did the shampoo again and everyone seemed clean. After that, I did frequent visual inspections but found no more bugs. About two weeks later, a friend told me that her family had lice. I raved about the Robi Comb and offered to let her borrow it. Before loaning it out, I ran it through my kids' hair just to be sure. I caught 4 lice on one of my kids! We did the shampoo again and remain lice-free, though I continue to use the Robi Comb periodically just to check. My friend ended up buying her own Robi Comb and had a similar experience to mine -- thinking that her family had no more lice, she demonstrated the comb to a friend only to discover some lice on her son's head. So I'd say it's excellent at finding lice and because of that, it's a very useful tool to let you know whether the bugs are still around.Product Review: I AGREE!!

I agree with soccer mom. Once my daughter started kindergarten, the lice started. It is SO hard to get rid of!! I tried EVERYTHING and that stuff is EXPENSIVE. We love the robi-comb - it's safe and it works!!Product Review: I was very happy with this product

It killed the lice and gave me peace of mind that I did not miss anything- also great because I think poisoning kids to get rid of bugs has to be one of the more asinine ideas going. Also the noise the comb makes is not loud enough to be annoying- and you can easily tell when a bug is located. Great idea!Product Review: I'm not sure if this actually detects lice!

Ok, so my husband got lice from his sister's son. I didn't know that his sister and his son had lice until later and believe it or not it spread on home to him and to me. So we seen this Robi Comb and purchased it because I have heard how horrible it is to get lice out and take care of it. I used the Robi Comb and it beeped many times (which indicated that I obviously had lice) so I got treatment and took care of it. So now I am still so freaked out that my husband and I had lice that I use this Robi Comb to detect if I have lice every once in a while. I haven't been itching and I checked today just to do it and it is beeping but I have no lice. I think this product is defective and inaccurate. I mean it beeped when I had it before but is also beeping when I don't have it! I guess it could be useful if it was a just "in case" scenario. Although, I don't know if it really works. When I did have lice before and I used it all of the time it really didn't take care of it so I bought this Licefreee spray that works wonders. Honestly, I have extremely thick hair and you can leave this in even sleep with it and it kills everything. I have never seen a spray before but this is the way to go. It is simple and easy and can be purchased at Wal Greens for $9. I know, expensive, but a time saver and you have the option of pulling out nits but it isn't required which makes it extremely simple and awesome. Just spray and go and you are done! I just think the Robi Comb needs more work before everyone says that it wonderful and takes care of lice because I don't think it does.

After suffering for months to rid my teenagers from head lice infestation I scoured the internet for solutions. The over-the-counter chemicals were helpful but repeated use did not eliminate the problem, even with laundering, vacuuming, etc. I kept seeing the Robi-Comb referenced on different webpages so I decided to give it a try. I had never seen this product available on the shelf of the local SuperCenters or Pharmacies so I purchased the Robi-Comb from the Amazon site. The price was reasonable and it would be delivered to my door. The product arrived in good time, excellent packaging (not damaged) and was brand-new as advertised. In desperation I left the Robi-Comb in the bathroom and, amazing but true, my teenagers began using it on their own. Before I knew it there were dead lice all over my bathroom sink. Each day before their shower my teenagers would comb through their hair continuing to zap lice survivors until there was nary a bug to be found in the sink. The Robi-Comb is easy to use and an extremely effective tool in lice elimination which makes it well worth the price and shipping. In conjunction with Denorex or Coconut Shampoo and blow-drying wet hair, I believe we will finally be rid of the pests within the month. If you are at your wit's end about head lice this product will give you instantanous hope.
NOTE: The comb is extremely easy to use but it is important to read the directions to understand the conditions under which the comb can be used. My teen tried to rinse it with water and almost shorted it out.
