Product Reviews of Large FIRM Tush Cush Seat Cushion - Navy

Product Review: Does the job
Summary: 4 Stars

I weigh a little under 200, have been using the cush for about a month, and it has not compressed down at all. I needed the wedge shape because I have sciatica and if the front of the cushion is not narrow it presses on the sciatic nerve. This cushion is shaped perfectly for me. A little pricy. But for the relief it gives me, I would pay it again.

Product Review: Don't buy it for the wedge effect.
Summary: 3 Stars

I am a physical therapist who was looking for a wedge-shaped cushion that I could recommend to my patients who need help keeping their spine in a neutral alignement while sitting. This wedge does NOT fit the bill, despite a product descrition that says "Wedge shape (slant from the back 3" down to 1/2" in the front) tilts your pelvis forward to restore your spine's natural lumbar lordotic curve."

Forget it. The cushion is too compressible to hold the wedge shape, especially since most people have more weight at the back of the cushion than at the front. So, the cushion basically bottoms out in the back.

I imagine it will work fine to relieve pressure on the coccyx, but I have not used it for that.

Product Review: Firm
Summary: 4 Stars

A little too firm but nice! I got this for my desk chair and it provides a good boost and keeps my back straight :)

Product Review: Firm Enough
Summary: 5 Stars

After reading various reviews that lamented seat cushoins going flat after a week or so of sitting on them, I decided I wanted longevity so ordered the extra firm cushion. It fits perfectly in my 2008 Dodge Caravan driver's seat and levels it out so I do not have constant back pain. It is a bit too wide for my 2001 Ford Focus seat but defionitely helps adjust the sitting angle. You do gain a few inches of height sitting on the cusion so if you are tall (I'm not which is why the seats do not fit me well) you may hit the roof. It was recommended for people over 150 pounds (I am right around that) and is not the softest cusion but I need it to fill in the low angle of my seat to make it level, not cushion me. If it eventually gets too soft, I will need to purchase another one.
I aggravated an old back injury and after months of weekly chiropractic was still not doing better so I took a good look at where I sit most - my office chair and the work van I drive. Neither allowed me to adjust them so my knees were at a 90 degree angle, hence the constant low back pain. Relief was almost instant and I have been able to stay mostly pain free and only visit the chiropractor monthly since I purchased the cushion.

Product Review: Good relief even for a big guy
Summary: 5 Stars

Got this because of a medical condition that requires pressure relief of the tail bone region. I'm a big guy 280lb so I needed something that would give me cushion for my weight and hold up to activity of getting in and out of the car. I have to adjust it since it moves every time I enter or leave the vehicle but it does exactly what it's supposed to do which is give me pressure relief. It's not all that expensive since there are others out there for $100 or more. I'd say if you are looking for something for the first time it's a good start.
