About a year ago when "Puffs Plus with Aloe, Vitamin E and other moisturizers" was quietly downgraded into an unsatisfactory but still expensive product I began my quest for a tissue that was durable, soft and did not irritate my nose if I needed to use them intensely for more than a couple of days. To put it mildly, my efforts had been fruitless and frustrating -- UNTIL NOW!
Believing for the past month since finding "Kleenex Anti Viral Facial Tissue, (112 Tissues)" that I had the best I could hope to settle for, finding this product "Kleenex Facial Tissue With Lotion, Regular 3-Pack, 3-Ply Tissue (130 Tissues)" came as quite a welcome surprise over the weekend. Unfortunately, while the standard 3-ply anti-viral product which I had is available at most grocery and drug stores the moisturized product is a little harder to track down. Apparently Kleenex offers so many color schemes that each Kleenex product represents many permutations to the retailer and they are reluctant to stock too many, seemingly-repetitive tissue products.
Having said that, tracking them down seems to have been worth the trouble. These "Kleenex Facial Tissue With Lotion, Regular 3-Pack, 3-Ply Tissue (130 Tissues)" were exactly like the 3-ply anti-viral tissues I had been tentatively satisfied with. Unlike their basic Kleenex cousins which literally ripped in my hands under gentle use, the 3-ply Kleenex tissue holds up as well as the "Puffs Plus", which is excellently. I had been using the standard 3-ply anti-viral product for a month, and with moderate use these tissues did not irritate my nose and managed to stay in one piece in my hands during and after use. At under $2.00 per box, this is an excellent value because one tissue can do the work of three flimsy tissues and keep me from getting messy in the process -- a definite plus!
But now I have found a much better alternative in this "MOISTURIZED" 3-ply product from Kleenex. This is the one I have needed since "Puffs Plus W/Aloe+Vit.E" became downgraded in quality. Facial tissues that are durable and soft do not grow on trees -- or do they? Add the moisturizer and this might be the best tissue available yet. Let's just hope that some bean-counters don't decide that this product takes up too much space on the store shelves.
UPDATE: 10/17/2006 - You may still have trouble actually finding this somewhat elusive product on the shelf. In that case Amazon or an affiliate may be a choice to consider. The best bet if you really need them is to keep a few extra boxes or buy them by the case so that you won't get caught short. This way you'll avoid the extra expense of getting them through the mail, or settling on an inferior product.
Wal-mart and Target don't generally stock this variety of kleenex. I have found that Walgreens keeps this particular variety in stock and sells single boxes with 130 3-ply sheets for $1.89.
I have been very satisfied with this product.
