Customer Review: Best only for shoe scuffs, not dyeing other leather articles

This dye is really only appropriate for shoe scuffs or minor leather touch-ups. It doesn't work well as a permanent dye for things like leather belts, purses, jackets etc. It does not penetrate well and can be removed with various cleaning solvents. The advantage it has is that it can be cleaned from your hands or from surfaces with rubbing alcohol or hand cleaners like Goop. In contrast, the Fiebing's brand dyes are stronger dyes and will penetrate the leather better for a permanent finish. With the Fiebing's dyes you must wear gloves and cover your work area because it will stain anything it gets on and is much harder to remove.
