Product Reviews of Johnson's Baby Shampoo, 15-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 6)

Product Review: Gentle but doesn't clean.
Summary: 2 Stars

Used this on the advice of my surgeon after a cataract operation. Gentle on the eyes (no sting) as advertised but also doesn't clean very well.

Product Review: I still use it
Summary: 5 Stars

Johnson's Baby Shampoo is something I still use, especially at the change of seasons when my allergies act up and I don't want any regular type of shampoo causing my eyes additional itch, stress or general discomfort. I've used this ever since I was a kid (although at that time I used it much more regularly) and I've never been regretful about it. It is every bit as gentle as they say it is--no burning sensation in my eyes when I use this to wash my hair; and I'm sorry about the other reviewer's experience but my hair feels clean after each and every wash.

I highly recommend this product.

Product Review: It really is safe for eyes!
Summary: 5 Stars

When my kids were little, I tested the shampoo to make sure it really wouldn't sting. I poured it in my eyes. Sure enough, it doesn't!

In fact, water stings a little, but this doesn't. It doesn't feel like a thing. Rather ingenious.

Product Review: Why now?
Summary: 5 Stars

Why would I review a product that I've used nearly every day for most of my life? Simple. I wanted to compare the price here in the amazoo to what I pay at my local drugstore. Lo and behold, I can save a few cents on the purchase, but the shipping cost devours the saving. Big surprise.

But I note, in the previous reviews, that I'm not the only one who uses this stuff deliberately in his eyes. In my case, it's a habit with which I'm comfortable, but others report having been advised to wash their eyes with 'baby shampoo' for hygiene. Who knows, really, what it's worth. Probably my eyelash mites have evolved a tolerance for it, if not a taste.

As for my hair, well, it's hardly worth mentioning.

While I'm here, however, I might as well comment on ingredients: water, cocoamidopropyl betaine, PEG-80 Sorbitan laurate, sodium trideceth sulfate, PEG-150 distearate, and traces of a few others. All the same ingredients (though some with studied variations in designation) are included in my charming wife's radically more expensive shampoo of choice. Hers has a longer list of trace ingredients, including ginger and castor oil. Does this suggest a familiar scenario in your household, also?

Product Review: the oldest and best
Summary: 5 Stars

I don't know who doesn't love this stuff. Still the gentlest, and the best. Love that it qualifies for subscribe and save.
