I feel very confident in any pose on this mat. I love it! Getting a hand size Yogi towel for the top isn't a bad idea to absorb sweat later into your class. I bought the dark purple and find that the dead skin (which we all have) from my feet shows very easily. If I had a chance to purchase a lighter color such as the green, I would have. I just wipe it down after each class, it just bugs me that I can see it during yoga as well as whatever was on the floor underneath it after class. I use the mats provided in class UNDER my Jade and it keeps the bottom free of hair etc. Otherwise, this mat is supreme. I have had mine for 1 month and the smell is almost gone. I use a wood clothes dryer to hang it and let it air. If you are washing it and it is slippery, perhaps you are using too much soap and not letting it air out completely. I just purchased this mat and I've been working it in every day for a week. It had a strong rubber smell when I first unpacked it. Some people complained but I think the odor is quite understandable as this product is made entirely of rubber! I washed it with dish soap and I've been airing it out for the week, and the smell is definitely dissapaiting. I will not be rolling it for some time, however, to give it more of a chance to release the smell. The mat is wonderfully sticky and is already wearing in, in a good way. I tend to have sweaty palms and downward dog can be very slippery, but not with this mat! Just the right amount of cushion. I am really happy with this purchase. If you need a new mat, this would be a great choice, as long as you are up for taking the time to air it out for a few weeks.Product Review: Best I found for slippery paws

I was so frustrated with those so called "sticky mats" and skidless towels, I left everything to try a jade harmony mat.
This product worked really well for my slipping issues. When my yoga classes get really hot however, i do notice I may slide a little in down dog but it is nothing like any other mat I've tried.
Some people complain about the weight of the rubber mat, since it comes in 3 different thicknesses. Since I have scoliosis and want to carry as little as possible on my back, I chose to get the thinnest rubber mat (1/8" travel mat). While at the yoga studio, I place one of their common mats under my mat for added cushion. I also recommend doing this since the rubber mat tends to be a dust magnet. So if the floor isn't the cleanest (say if you practice at a gym studio), dust, hair and fuzz tends to attract to the mat.
The smell of the harmony mat is overwhelming when you first get it. It would make my entire room smell of rubber when I was trying to air it out. The smell, however, fortunately goes away over time. Just make sure you air it out for as much as possible.
I've had my harmony mat for about 10 months now and I don't notice any wear on it.

This mat beats other yoga mats by far. I practice Yoga 3 times a week and I do sweat a lot. This mat gives you a firm foundation and although it is only 3/16 it has enough cushion for sore knees. I can say I do not slide at all on this mat. I have purchased cheap mats it the past and this is well worth the money. Also a bonus Jade Harmony plants a tree for each mat that is sold.
