I've only used it for one day, so can't speak to the machine's durability, but it does appear to be solidly constructed with no apparent weak points. I would have rated it 5-star except for a couple of minor points, call it 4.5. It gives you a respectable workout and is a convenient size for under-desk use, but the fact that the tensioner is not calibrated means having to keep turning the nob and trying each setting until you find a point you're satisfied with (many turns to make a difference). Still, once you find it, it works fine. I have it set approximately to the force you would need to peddle a bike in middle gear up a slight incline. Mine has a slight hitch in the rotation as you begin, but I don't notice it too much once up to speed. I like the multi-mode monitor, lots of choices, but the documentation doesn't tell you some things it should: It doesn't tell you to hold the 'Mode' button down for a few seconds to reset readings to zero and it doesn't tell you the meter will turn itself off after a few minutes of inactivity. Those are minor, but would have been nice to know in advance. Overall, it's a good product that does the job for me. Glad I bought it.Product Review: Superior product

Recommended by a rehabilitation concern, I purchased the unit from Amazon, considerably less than the price advertised by other companies.
The unit is perfect for bicycling in a restricted stationary space, quiet, and smooth operating.
It can easily be moved to a counter top for arm excersising, also.
The electronics works very well, displaying time, distance, etc.
Perfect for me.

As a Post Stroke survivor. The arm and hand require the most additional exercise the leg and feet get daily exercise if one regains the ability to stand and walk. So this exerciser is just one more inexpensive way to try to regain arm use.Product Review: peddler exerciser
