Product Review: Miracle Cure for Nighttime Pain, Numbness in Hand
Summary: 5 Stars

My husband has psoriatic arthritis and, as a result, carpal tunnel syndrome, mostly in his left wrist and hand. For 4-6 weeks he had been waking up at night with pain and tingling in his left hand and forearm. The only relief he found was to sit straight up in bed, which doesn't make for very restful sleep. He had even tried Ambien, but it didn't help. The pain woke him up many times during the night, every single night. That is, until he bought a Pil-O-Splint Nighttime Wrist Splint. The FIRST NIGHT he used it, he slept through the entire night without pain or numbness! He's used it every night since and has had NO pain, NO waking up, nothing! One night he fell asleep without putting it on. He paid for that. About two hours later he woke up in pain. Slipped on the Pil-O-Splint, pain went away quickly and he slept the rest of the night. I HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone with nighttime pain or tingling in their hands/wrists due to carpal tunnel syndrome. It's a miracle!

Product Review: Non-Adjustable Pil-O-Splint
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been wearing this nightly and have reduced the pain and tingling in my hand. Highly Recommend this product.

Product Review: Pil-O-Splint
Summary: 5 Stars

This product has helped me sleep again. I have carpal tunnel in both my hands (the left is really bad) and I was always waking up at night with my hands numb and aching. I bought the adjustable Pil-O-Splint and I used it the very night it arrived. I was amazed. I did not wake up that night with my left hand numb at all. I have worn it every night since. I thought that it would get hot, but it is very comfortable and does not get hot during the night. I'm very glad I found this product, I would recommend it.

Product Review: Recommended by tendonitis sufferer
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had tendonitis since 2004, and my occupational therapist recommended the Pil-O-Splints. Before purchasing this product I used splints of the drugstore variety, but they didn't immobilize the whole hand like the Pil-O-Splint does (instead, they only immobilized the wrists); because of this, when using drugstore splints my hands would clench into fists during the night.

I found these splints to be an enormous relief after the very first night. Not only were they effective and extremely comfortable, but their well-designed fit didn't leave me with uncomfortable pressure marks like my old, drugstore splints did. (I've found that the cheaper splints are easy to over-tighten in an effort to get a good fit. This causes pressure marks, numbness in the middle of the night, etc....).

I was hesitant at first to buy them because of the price, but I'm very glad I did. They're easily machine washed, too (a real plus--splints can get nasty if used regularly!). Highly recommended, especially the adjustable splints. The adjustable still slips on and off like the regular does, but has a velcro wrap that can be tightened for a better fit.

EDIT (1 Dec. 2009): After four years of continuous use, I'm still completely satisfied with the product (and still on my very first pair, at that).

Product Review: The best so far - soft & very adjustable
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the best splint I have worn so far, and I have tried at least four others. It definitely beats the one from the doc. I have carpal tunnel and trigger fingers and thumb. This splint is very adjustable - I tighten it in some places but leave gaps in others. It is soft and does not dig into my hand like the ones with metal in the palm do. The plastic stays are on the back, but still prevent you from moving your hand down. I do not have to wear separate wrist and finger splints. I have long fingers and they still stick out enough to turn pages or use my iPod - but not bend at the joints that need splinting.

I have been wearing this about 4 months now, and am ordering another for my left hand which has similar problems although not as severe. The splint is holding up great and I wear it every night. I seem to adjust it about once a month, but then I just slip it on and off. I do wear the Isotoner arthritis gloves under it as well.

I am not sure how this could ever be too tight (as one reviewer noted) if you adjust it to your liking. I did have a similar problem at one point, but was able to adjust it to be loose enough over the wrist and still tight further up the arm and at the fingers. This is hard to explain without a picture, but I will try. I tighten it at my fingers and further up the arm first, then only press the velcro as needed a few places in between - you end up with a bumpier version, but it works great.

The only complaint I have is that is is a bit bulky - but that is also why it is more comfortable. As I said - the best yet!
