My wife's doctor recommended that she wear a wrist splint at night, but did not specify a brand, so I checked Amazon's site and found these. They are really serious and have given her basically painfree nights and days as well even though she wears them only at night.
When she forgot to wear them one night, pain woke her in the middle of the night and then she put them on and got quick relief.

I have had carpal tunnel syndrome for a decade. My doctors neglected to tell me how important it is to wear a splint at night. Finally an orthopedic doc said to wear a splint nightly because the nerves are more active (they aren't sure why) and most folks sleep with their hands curled. I tried several other drug-store elastic types but would find them uncomfortable and take them off. This splint is very soft, warm and has a soft cushion for your palm. The splint has a slit on both the right and left sides for your thumb so you can use it for either hand. There are 2 types of splints, one had an adjustable velcro strap and the other does not. I find the one with the velcro strap easier to use and it does not slip off as easily as I can adjust the strap. I am ordering one for my other hand.Product Review: Helped my tendonitis

My fingers and wrists tend curl inward when I sleep. I wore the split with the rigid side facing my palm and it kept my fingers and wrist from curling and it really helped with the pain day to day! I alternate night to night from hand to hand because both my hands have the same problem. I highly recommend for anyone with pinching achy wrist and finger pains.
