Product Review: Not Quite Perfect

Large buttons light-up and are easy to read at night. The "master volume" setting works the TV, DVD, and other untis --Except the VCR. I confirmed this in the owners manual. Have not called tech support to see if there is a work around. The play, reverse, and fast forward buttons are not logically placed. However, this unit appears to be the best easy to read, illuminated remote available today based on my internet searches.Product Review: button size and lighting up is good...but...

if your mom is having trouble with the remote, it might not just be because she can't read/see the buttons. this device obviously eliminates those problems, very nicely.
what it doesn't do is teach a senior citizen how to use a remote for multiple devices. probably nothing can, at this rate. (and i say that having been a professional IT trainer and documentation expert for almost 20 years!)
it's not the item's fault, although the layout of the buttons isn't great. i tried to use the item myself, but found it so huge and awkward to hold, i actually just gave up and freecycled it to a neighbor!

Very dissapointed in this remote. Bought it for my parents. I didn't control the dvd player and would not control the dvr function of the cable box. If all you want to do is change channels and adjust volume this works, but that it about all it does.
