It does take awhile to heat the water if filled with cold from the start. I did not think the water was very warm but my wife, who uses it, said the temp was just right...wonderful. Well made (when compared to others) and highly recommended. One caveat, the rotary stone is not removable, as it was with someone else's version (which did not heat the water), but which once again my wife said was not a problem. Turns out overall to be perfect for 'her'
