Product Review: Waste of money
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought this clock specifically for the projected display and sound effects. The first time I turned off the lights I discovered that the display is extremely bright, as is the projected time. Next I discovered that the white noise was annoying (an old television tuned to an empty station is much better). I soon found the additional sounds even worse. I ended up turning the sound and projector off and covering the display. I was certainly disappointed in this purchase but decided that as long as the alarm function worked, it wasn't worth the hassle of taking it back. About a month in to using this clock, I discovered its main fault lies with the layout of the alarm set and snooze button. There is less than 1/8th of an inch separating the two. This design flaw makes it inevitable that persons who use the snooze button will accidentally turn the alarm off. I have owned several clock radios over the years, this, without question is the worst one I have ever owned. As it is too late to take it back, I will just have to buy a new one.

Product Review: We can't sleep without it!
Summary: 5 Stars

My wife and I have used a "white noise" generator as a sleep aid for years and when an electrical incident at home fried a bunch of necessary electronic devices, the clock radio w/surf sound went bye bye too.

I agonized over a dozen different models, test listening in stores when I found one and determined the Homedics had the most realistic surf and rain sounds. We actually ended up using the waterfall setting after all.

My parents had just gotten a model that had the atomic time feature, but I read that it was not reliable and decided against it for ours. The most important feature was the sounds. I got a gift card to Amazon for my birthday and used it for this clock. I paid a little more than today's deal, but still spent less than $30

I gotta tell you, everybody is dead on about the projected clock. It is way too bright. You can, however, take some really cheap broken sunglasses and cut a lens to tape over the projector to dim it. We just opt not to use it. The front display is more than adequate and the (almost round) shape allows you to orient it however you want.

All in all, this is a fantastic product and if this one breaks or dies, I will replace it with another of the same.

Product Review: What they about this is true
Summary: 3 Stars

Hi all. This sound machine by Hometics is just OK as far as the nature sounds goes, but what everyone says about the brightness of this clock is very true. Much to BRIGHT even on low and you must cover it with something unless you want to make believe your falling asleep during the daytime. I for one don't want to.

The radio plays pretty good probably because it has a wire antenna.

Product Review: What were they thinking
Summary: 4 Stars

Overall, to be honest it isn't a bad clock...the sounds are decent, it has a nice design, and the radio has good reception. But I do have a few complaints...Usually when a person needs a white noise machine or something with "soothing sounds" they have trouble sleeping...Before I purchased this I was made aware by a few of the reviews that "the light is too bright" (the light on the time display and the projector) but I went ahead anyway and decided to purchase this...The truth is, the people were right. The light not only on the time display, but the projector are extremly too bright. It's unreal. I'm a person who dosent mind a little light, but i might as well have my ceiling light on...there's a dim swith but that dosent help much either...usually i just have to cover the time display then its fine. but overall its a decent clock.

Product Review: Who built this thing?!
Summary: 1 Stars

Who, in their right mind, would think that a display this bright is a good idea at night while you are trying to sleep? Lights up the whole room! Even on dim! I'm returning it. Sound is okay but who can sleep in a room that's almost bright enough to read?
