We have two of these, one for our 28 month-old and one for our 10-month old. We started using it with our oldest when he was about 4 months-old so our SoundSpa has been going strong for 2 years. We use it each night for both boys and they both fall asleep with no problems. We use the timer for both and vary the song they fall asleep to and the rotating pictures they watch. During the 10 month-old's daytime naps, I use either the rain or ocean as a white noise. When the baby was born, I used the heart beat sound for him to go to bed. For my oldest, I had a different white noise machine and the heart beat on it wasn't was good or as effective as this one.
My oldest son has had some severe health issues and no matter how awful he was feeling, it would always calm him down to watch the images and listen to the music. We even put blackout shades up in his room for awhile during the day so he could watch the images during the day. The Soundspa was a lifesaver for my husband and me on more than one occasion. My oldest enjoys "talking" to the images, "goodnight cow, goodnight moon, goodnight fish", etc. Sometimes when we travel to places we know the kids will be too wound up to go to sleep easily, we'll pack one of the SoundSpas with us. It's very calming for them both to have something familiar from home to go to sleep to.
