Product Review: Amazingly effective for the money

I've sat in those $2,000 massage chairs, and let me tell you: this little cushion is not as good as those chairs.
But you know what? I'd say it's about half as good. And for 1/20th the price, that's pretty incredible.
Pros:
It feels great. That's the main thing, and all that really matters, right?
It's amazingly strong considering how small the motors must be. I'm a pretty big guy, and even when I lean on it it keeps on cranking away.
It's not bulky, so it hasn't made my chair appreciably smaller.
The width of the rollers is good for me.
Good materials, and it looks decent on my home office chair.
And again, it's an excellent value for what it does.
Cons:
One of the buttons on the remote died, so if I want a full back massage, I have to orchestrate it with the other modes.
I've got it on an office chair the rolls and swivels, and the cord gets tangled around the chair a lot. Not the fault of the manufacturer, but it might annoy some people.
It doesn't reach the very lowest or highest parts of the back, at least on a 6-foot tall person like me.

Perhaps this is because this model isn't the 'best' out of the others that are being offered, but I have to say I was a bit let down by the experience. I came home and quickly opened up the packaging, took out the cushion, set it up and turned it on, immediately I hear a weird noise, one that I know shouldn't be there. I immediately turn it off and read through all the instructions (I know, should have done that before hand), and come across a screw that I was supposed to take out. Let this be a warning to others, a small screw on the back of the cushion has to be removed (it comes with a small tool with which to remove it, so no worries there).
After that was over I sat down and let it do it's thing! First thing I noticed is that you have to be sitting straight back in order for it to get to all the parts of your back, I'm 5'9" and unless my head is against the back of my chair I won't be feeling the rollers on my upper back. Second, is the fact that at some points these rollers are very HARD and will be poking into your back, which is the major reason for me giving this 4 stars out of 5. The company recommends putting a towel in between your back and the cushion, which I think I'll be doing from now on. Otherwise, I think for the money, this massager is pretty good. I think it works best for the lower back, you'll notice yourself moving with it as it literally goes into your back while moving up and down in circular motions, but again, these are hard motions with little cushioning. The middle of the back is when it starts to almost hurt!
I will say that having sat in one of those recliners, at sharper image, the difference is day and night. There is much more comfort in them, which probably explains the $2,000 price tag, than with this cushion which I think is actually lacking some 'cushion' for your back. Unless you like HARD massages, and I do mean HARD, I'd recommend looking elsewhere or at least getting a towel or two ready.

Whenever I'm in one of those cities that has one of those big designer malls, you know the kind, the kind with a Sharper Image and a Brookstone store in them (well, I guess most of them are out of business now, but you know what I mean), I just love to go to those kind of stores and abuse the free massage chair privilege. I just sit right down, fire the chair up, close my eyes and relax for about ten minutes or so. Then I try another, then another, they've usually got about three to four chairs and I can burn up an easy half hour, sometimes a whole hour, getting my free massages.
Yes, the sales people may get a bit annoyed, but what care I. I'm a guy who lets other's opinions or roll off his shoulders, like water off a duck's back.
Now while this little beauty, the Homedics Shiatsu Massaging Cushion may not be as fantastic as those chairs, it is about $4000 cheaper, so for my money you can't beat it. Those rolling balls start at the base of your spine, work their way up to your neck and down again.

And it sure as heck beats going next door and getting Mr. Bently to walk on your back. But then, I guess George Jefferson didn't have any choice, the Shiatsu Massaging Cushion hadn't been invented yet. But you don't have to go to your neighbor's, you don't have to go to the mall for a freebe and you don't have to pay four grand. You can pick up this really nifty shiatsu massager for a song and it's got heat too, such a deal.

Being a computer person who spends 10 hrs a day in front a computer and 1 hour in a car, I wish if there was an inexpensive way of getting a back massage whenever I wanted.
I found homedics SBM 200H to be the ideal solution if you are looking for a massage at your home whenever you want it. Just put it on your chair, plug in the wires and you are all set.
I found a few good and bad things about the massager
Pros
* Works as advertised - provides a nice massage and the right amount of heat on the back
* Fits most of the chairs, so you do not have to change your chair for this massager
* Works on both lower and upper back with a medium-high intensity giving a nice massage
Cons
* Wish if there was way to control the intensity - Homedics suggests puttin a towel on the massager which works but decreases the heat
* Wish if there was a way to adjust the range of motion of the rollers - the lower/upper back control is good enough, but not all people are of the same size and there should have been something to control the range of motion
Overall I reccomend this to anyone wanting to buy a reasonably priced massage chair which does its job well.

The Homedics SBM-200H message chair is the ideal at home message treatment. It has 3 setting~~spot message, regular message, or rolling message~~and you choose if you'd like heat with your message. I loved the heated rolling message~~it felt like I was getting a professional message, only with heat!! I've gotten so I love to do it as soon as I get home from work, because it helps me relax and loosen up all those stiff muscles.
The chair itself it light, compact and fits in all the chairs in my house, and would fit perfectly in my car seat if I had an adapter. It has a 15 min. timer on it, so it doesn't become too hot~~which at first I thought was kind of bothersome, when I was doing a message, but after thought realized this is probably a great feature, so that if you leave the messager on, it will kick itself off. No worries!! And it's quick to heat right back up...you only have to wait a min. or two to start your message right back up. It's got a handy little remote attached to it, that is perfect for you to hold in your right hand, so you can easily switch settings while your're doing your message...I like to do the rolling message, then switch to the lower back, then the upper, then back to rolling. I could do this for hours!! It's SO relaxing...I've set mine up in my living room so that I can have my message while watching tv!! Perfect!!
This message chair is ideal for those who don't have the $ to drop on an expensive message table, but would love to have a messager of their own. For the cost, this is a bargain, and you'll love it!! It's well worth every dime you'll spend on it!!
