Product Reviews of Homedics SBM-200H Therapist Select Shiatsu Massaging Cushion with Heat

Product Review: Homedics' best model
Summary: 5 Stars

They're a nemesis, filling drawers, closets and spare boxes, and so imposing in their size, weight, and arcane specs that we feel compelled to hang on to them, even though we no longer have any idea what they're for. I'm speaking about the ubiquitous external power adapters that now come with dozens of applications--electric pianos, compact clock radios, useless Ronco buzzing seat vibrators--where at one time they weren't required. Out of sight was out of mind, and the equipment "seemed" to work without them. Six-connector power strips weren't consumed by a mere one or two space-robbing heavy hogs, pianos didn't fail because someone broke the thin wire connected to the adapter running the whole show.

It's time to declare war against wall warts. Throw the suckers out or use them as boat anchors. They're a cheap cop-out for most manufacturers, enabling the bypassing of sophisticated electronic circuitry as well as allowing the company to advertise their product as more "light-weight" than a former version, since they don't have to factor in the dead weight of these ludicrous sinkers.

Last year I purchased the Homedics deluxe model. It failed in six months, even though it still looks spanking new. Perhaps it's still under warranty, but who wants to pack it, insuring that the power adapter doesn't become a lethal flying object in the event of a mishap? Moreover, if it's repaired, what have I accomplished if I've still got the ugly squat turret to contend with?

I cut my losses on the more expensive Homedics shiatsu from last year and purchased the SBM-200H. No silly bottom buzzer, but also no power adapter! An impressive "return to progress." I expect this one to last me until next Christmas (though I pray the company doesn't decide to revert to the black blocks for the sake of a better profit line on the seasonal ledger sheet).

Product Review: Homeedics SBM200H Massaging cushion with heat
Summary: 1 Stars

This product was terrible. It had two heating elements that were not padded enough so that they would poke out and poke my back.

I have returned this item and I am waiting on credit to purchase something else.

Product Review: It did NOT work for me!!! :(
Summary: 3 Stars

In my line of work, I have alot of heavy lifting. Recently, I have had bad back pains. The product did not work for me, in the sense of not meeting my needs. I paid 79.99 plus shipping fee. I will be returning this product back to the original seller. I don't want to be rude and not mention any GOOD qaulities about the product. The back massager is truly an overall good product. The heat function is unique to me and feels okay. I have nothing against the makers of this product, it's just that I have very bad back pains. The product simply did not meet my expectations. I will be returning this product as soon as possible. I only hope, that the original seller will not make me pay for shipping.
If I were to recommend this product to you. I'd say depending upon you physical needs, this product is a good investment. But if you have very bad back pains (like myself), I would recommend you to do your research. Good luck with what you're looking for and God bless.

Product Review: It feels good....But the excessive noise hurts in an office environment
Summary: 3 Stars

This feels good if you can sit back tightly against the back of the chair. Unfortunately, I wanted this for my office chair and leaning back is not practical all the time. The other, and more significant downside is the crunching, grinding noise. It is quite distracting and not appropriate for a hospital office environment. It is so noisy that I actually have to turn the tv up if I use it at home. What's with the noise?

Product Review: It's fine
Summary: 4 Stars

The product is fine. Limitations noted by other reviewers are accurate - the inability to adjust the vertical or horizontal position of the rollers is a bit inconvenient.
