Product Reviews of Homedics QRM-400H Therapist Select Quad-Roller Massaging Cushion with Heat

Product Review: A MUST HAVE! Just what I needed!
Summary: 5 Stars

From the day we received the Homedics 400H I have been impressed. I have had back pain off and on for the past 10 years. Trips to a chiropractor and the masseuse are too costly and time consuming, so I was excited to find a product that actually could be used in my home. Since purchasing the massaging cushion I have used it numerous times and so have other members of the family. The ability to customize the massage makes it a good fit for anyone. Applying heat and different massage techniques really has helped with the back pain I had been experiencing. Even those who have not had backaches in our family have enjoyed the massage they have received.
My daughter and I tried out the Homedics display at a local retailer. We were very impressed and although I had heard a radio ad proclaiming its effectiveness, I wanted to make sure to get the best price. Searching online gave me the step-up model for the same price.
I highly recommend the 400H for those who want a great massage in their own home. Use it according to the instructions is my only caution to those who purchase the product.

Product Review: A little disappointing
Summary: 3 Stars

Love the heat and the quad-rolling massager. The only problem is that is doesn't go low or high enough to get the parts of the back most in need of the massage.

Product Review: A little pricey, but pretty good

This was my first massager, so I don't know what to compare against. But I do know that it was somewhat easy to use and worked well.

Right out of the box, be prepared to use a specially provided tool to remove a screw before you can use the product. They want to make sure you read the warning label before you use it! After that, it was pretty straigthforward to use.

Make sure you have enough light to read the controls (at least until you get familiar enough). I used it first in my living room on my sofa, and with dim lighting, I couldn't see anything on the controls. After turning on some more light I could see that the upper controls were for 'shiatsu' style. The lower ones make the rollers go straight up and down. But in this mode, you can also set the 'width' of the rollers. With shiatsu style, the rollers zig-zag and so width is not an option there.

What's nice is that in both styles (shiatsu, and straight up and down), you can position the rollers almost anywhere on your back.

However, like others have mentioned, it doesn't seem to go high enough up the back. The lower back gets nicely massaged though.

I didn't use the heat option. But the friction from all that massaging seemed to be enough to heat my back up naturally.

One last thing is that the box is designed so that you could pack it away nicely and carry it around.

Overall, even though it seems pricey to me, I'd recommend this product. My back's certainly happier!

Product Review: A massage therapists favorite chair
Summary: 5 Stars

As a busy massage therapist, this is the best gift I ever bought myself. It is effective and warm and relaxes my muscles daily after work. The best money I ever spent! The motion is Firm and specific or less firm, depending on the setting. I love it! Bought the neck massager , too because the rollers do
not get high enough on my traps and neck.

Product Review: A near perfect chair massager

Homedics QRM-400H Therapist Select Quad-Roller Massaging Cushion with Heat
is a very nice chair massager. It allows for easy use in a variety of settings, as long as there is a plug in near. Use in on a chair, sofa, or even sit on the floor against a wall if you are so inclined.

The first thing that sets this particular model apart from its competitors in the two seperate settings. You can either select the 'Rolling' setting - which is basically the twin rollers on each side move up and down your back. Or, you can select the 'Shiatsu' setting, which means not only to the wheels go up and down, but in and out from the middle of your back to the outside of your back kneading those tired muscles. Within each setting are seperate area that the massager can key on. You can select entire back, upper back, or lower back - all depending on your needs. You can also have the massager hold in one position and work a spot that is really troublesome.

As an added benefit you can also intorduce a heat function for those tired muscles. As an added bonus you can also adjust the width of the rollers.

This is my second chair massage, both Homedic, and I must say this one far outshines the other. The control is easy to use, simple and has a nice attached pouch to store the control when not in use.

The advantages of this model are:

Ease of use
Variety of settings
Size/weight
Overall design

The one drawback I have (and it seems like a few others agree). Is I wish it went a little higher up on my upperback. Being 5'8" I thought it would have accomodated me easily.

Overall, this is a high quality piece of equipment and one I am very pleased to have. I am sure It will get much use during the hockey season by me.
