Product Reviews of Homedics BRT-s110 Soothing Vanilla Brethe Air Revitalizer Solution

Product Review: Homedics Lime Revitalizer Solution
Summary: 5 Stars

This is my favorite of all the fragrances. It is a crisp smelling fragrance that I can smell all over the house. I agree that the Revitalizer does not really put enough moisture in the house but I bought it more for the air cleaning.

Product Review: LIme fragrance
Summary: 5 Stars

We all loved this fragrance. It filled the air, yet was not overbearing. Since we all had colds and sore throats we felt our throats were soothed and it was easier to breathe. While the machine does not put much moisture into the air, the fragrance spreads quickly throughout the house.

Product Review: Nice Smell, Good Unit -Rediculous Prices
Summary: 1 Stars

These prices are insane. Your can buy this unit with 4 different scented bottles for 50$. You can use many different brand scented oils in the unit so i wouldnt spent 15$ on one refill. My Advice buy the entire unit again and you will save ten dollars or buy essential oils from somone else.

Product Review: Other fragrances work & smell better!
Summary: 1 Stars

I liked my Homedics Breathe, but I was turned off by the fragrances that came with the unit. Having spent a lot of $$$ in humidifiers/ozone/air purifiers & co., I decided to test the use of this relatively inexpensive machine, using a different fragrance (even if the instructions specifically forbid this). Worst case scenario, I figured, I've thrown $50 down the drain (surely not for the last time!)
I found that you can pour in just a teaspoon or so of Mrs. Meyer's Ironing spray (love their smells), fill the tank up with water as usual and...

BOOM! Just kidding...

My Homedics has worked just fine for a month, now. A full size bottle of Mrs. Meyer's ironing spray is way cheaper than the Homedics refill... and you can't beat the smells of geranium, basil, lavender or lemon verbena. Try it yourself, but I warn you... I said to use the ironing spray which is a liquid, non-foaming solution. Other products, especially essential oils won't work or may clog your machine.
Once you try this, you'll be excited at the prospect of using the Homedics without being hooked to the purchase of so-so fragrances that are way too expensive, and not that enjoyable (according to my husband's nose!)

There, problem solved, my husband's nose is now finally satisfied!

Product Review: Vanilla smells like camphor
Summary: 2 Stars

My first try was with the vanilla -- and, as I poured it in, I smelled camphor! Yuck! I cannot bear the odor of camphor or patchoulli. It makes me gag. So, I hoped I was wrong and that the smell would go away. It didn't. The camphor odor was strong and the vanilla fragrance was there somewhere. I was having a sensitivity/allergy reaction, so I had to dump the water out and start all over again.

In the meantime, I am using a non Homedics scent and hoping that won't hurt the unit. Tomorrow, I'll try the orange or the lime. And if THEY have that camphor smell, I'm SOL.

So, if camphor is a clean and uplifting smell for you, go for it. If not, stay away from vanilla.

Update:

I kept it in my classroom. Then, when I went to fill it, the plastic was all cracked through, and the water leaked all over. This is not my idea of a good product. This product (Homedics Brethe) was a waste of money.
