When I was suffering from sciatica a friend loaned me her back massager with heat; it helped so much that I ordered my own. I found this Homedics model much better than the one I had borrowed (which came from a different manufacturer and was more expensive). Mine was quieter and had more massage and heat areas; I feel it helped me recover more quickly. Now that I'm not suffering from the pain I previously had, I still use my back massager almost nightly because it feels so good!Product Review: What a great gift

This massager seems to be a good thing to have. We have not tested it for long trips, but even on short trips (commuting to work) it is sometimes useful. Lower 2 motors are not necessary, you can buy an 8 motor massager and that would be as good.
