This is the perfect fountain. I've tried many, many others and none have even come close. Everyone who sees it is amazed, and afraid to touch it because they're afraid they'll get burnt. The lights make it look so real, and the noise that comes from the water flow is just perfect, and so relaxing. I would DEFINITELY recommend this to anyone and everyone. Wow. I am extremely happy with my new fountain! I have it on most of the time I am home. As previous reviews stated, the motor only gets loud when it needs more water. Word of caution: add little amounts slowly. When you turn off the fountain, it can over flow out of the pot. The sound of the water is exactly what I wanted for the relaxed ambiance of my living room. Great value as well!Product Review: Pretty Good

I've found this to be pretty nice. yes, it VERY MUCH made of plastic, all of it lol, but it seems to be holding up pretty well. I've had it for two months and although i got it for a little mood lighting with the wife it's seen more use as mesmerizing 'art' for my 3 and 5 year old daughters. For some reason they absolutely love this thing.
As far as noise goes, if you let the water get just a little too low the pump starts gasping, getting both air and water. once you top it off it gets pretty quiet again. In a dark room there's probably a little bit too much light going on, so if the lights start burning out, as they seem to do with the other reviews, I think it'll still be ok.

I received my fountain in the mail yesterday, and I am very disappointed in it.It is made of very cheap plastic, and when I got it set up and turned on, the motor ran (very loudly) and the lights turned on, but it would not pump the water at all...so no waterfall. I'm sending it back, and I would not recommend this fountain to anyone.
