Product Review: A Great Value

When I bought this unit it was for a single purpose: To be able to fall asleep despite living below noisy neighbors. I'm sure the alarm clock and radio work great, but I haven't tried either -- I've only used this item as a sound machine. As a sleep aid, it is probably one of the better values you will find on Amazon. It sports a number of different sounds, some better than others, but none of them authentic enough to make you feel like you're "there". Of course for what I'm using it for I could care less if the waterfall sounds "real" -- I just need it to block out surrounding noises and for that it works great! The volume control on the unit allows you to crank it up to the point where you'll be oblivious to just about anything going on around you with the exception of low frequency noise (e.g. bass). The single small speaker on this unit just isn't going to be able to compete with your neighbor's subwoofer and that is my single complaint when it comes to this unit. To its credit other sound machines aren't particularly good at dealing with bass either, but that fault is the only thing that keeps me from rating this unit 5 stars.Product Review: A SUPERB WAY TO WAKE UP........

THIS IS ONE DYNAMITE LITTLE CLOCK, ETC. ETC. TO DATE I HAVE PURCHASED 2 OF THEM. ONE FOR EACH OF MY KIDS FOR CHRISTMAS.. THEY BOTH LOVE THEM AND THEY LIKE THAT THE TIME PROJECTS ON THE WALL OR THE CEILING.. THE SOUNDS PUT THEM TO SLEEP AND THEY CAN WAKE UP TO WHATEVER SOUND THEY WANT.. THIS HOMEDICS IS A GREAT LITTLE PRODUCT AND I RECOMMENTHIS ONE FOR ANYONE..Product Review: A gentle wake up makes for a gentle morning.

I used to jump out of bed in a half panic as the clock radio shocked me awake. I am not a race car. I was NOT built to go from zero to 110 in 5 seconds. The HoMedics sound spa radio is wonderful. I wake up slower, sometimes it takes me about 4 minutes to totally hear the alarm. . . but I was able to compensate easily by setting the alarm 5 minutes earlier. I also love the feature that projects the time on the ceiling, so that I can look up without moving too much, which allows me to fall back to sleep more easily if I do wake up in the middle of the night. I have mine set for "Ocean" to wake up, but the "Rain" and "Water fall" settings work great for background sound to mask TV or Radio in the next room if I need to concentrate on something. We love the design and features of this versatile clock. The nature sounds must be digitized samples - they sound like, well ... nature! A timer allows us to choose to leave the sound of rain or waterfall or ocean running all night or for as little as a few minutes to provide a nice backdrop for getting to sleep. The alarm feature allows us to choose radio or nature sound or buzzer - a great addition if you, like us, enjoy hearing nature sounds all night, this allows you to wake up to a totally different sound. We have not needed the lens that projects the time on the ceiling since the display is bright and very readable at night. The only flaw we've found is there's no dial or digital display for the radio -- you have to either have infinite patience to guess which is your favorite as you move through AM or FM frequencies. The easiest way is to turn on a reference radio, then find the signal on the clock. Don't plan on easily finding your second favorite station! With the addition of a digital frequency selector, I'd give the product 5 stars.Product Review: A nifty little gadget!

I have had this gadget for a month or so.
Let's start with the PROS:
So far the alarm has not failed me yet. The snooze button is big and easy to find, located right in the front of the device. Easy to find without actually having to open my eyes yet.
The radio works surprisingly well. Waking up to music is a MUCH nicer way to start the day than to the standard mind numbing BEEPING sound. It does have that option though which could come in handy if you want to annoy the crap out of your spouse one random morning.
The projection feature is cool and easy to read. Now that I have that, I don't honestly know how I lived without it. I must have had to sit up out of bed 5 times/night to see the time. Now all I have to do is look up.
The noises are relaxing. I've heard some noise machines that are suppose to be relaxing, but are the farthest thing from it. If you are looking for a jungle full of wild animals squaking and screaming, this is NOT the item for you.
Cons: The unit is a little on the big/bulky side. Kind of looks like something that belongs in a kid's room.
The projection only has about a 90 degree range, from straight up to the wall behind it. It would be a much better design if it projected forward and/or to the sides. I'll have to do some furniture rearranging to get the time to shine where I want it.
While the noises might be nice to fall asleep to, I don't think I would rely on them to wake me up. For that I think I'd need the jungle full of screeching birds and angry monkeys.
