Product Reviews of HoMedics FM-CR Foot Pleaser Foot Massager

Product Review: Foot Pleaser? Maybe!
Summary: 3 Stars

I like this machine...it does help the foot relax and certainly feels good. I was disappointed that I bought used without warranty as the right heat went out a week after I got it. There's nothing deep about the massage, so I felt somewhat mislead by other reviews. It's hard to relax your foot in use because the pressure on the device really causes drag. One rec is to wear socks when using which does help. Another negative is the turning wheels push your feet off the device so it's hard to keep them in one place, esp the place that needs massage...it's disappointing. Having sides or something to keep the foot in place would be helpful. But it does help more than not.

Product Review: From a neuropathy sufferer...
Summary: 3 Stars

I received this for Christmas. I have intractable neuropathy as a result of trauma to back, legs, feet. Also have a morphine pump.

Anyway, due to the nerve pain, I'm always on the look-out for products that may be helpful to my feet. Yet, as a retired paramedic, I am very particular about what products I will try.

I saw this foot massager while christmas shopping with my mom at Kohl's. She must have noted my interest in it as she gave me one of these for christmas.

I, too, do not care for the water massagers due to the hassle of using them and for their set-up time and messiness. This looked to be a geat product. I have been researching for and looking for a good infrared heat/massager for months.

For anyone who has neuropathy these comments will make sense...Any minor trauma to my feet feels like millions of shards of glass stabbing my feet. Like yesterday when my dog ran across my feet and her claws dug into my feet it left me agonizing for 10 minutes. It drew blood and now I have no sensation of this still healing wound. Such is neuropathy.

I've tried this massager several times. I thought the poor heat was due to my neuropathy; others agree tho. I couldn't tell the difference between the settings of blue [non-heated] & red [heated]. I put medium to light pressure with my feet and no matter what it feels like the million shards of glass sensation. I do not think repeated use will build up my feet for this. [I may rig it up to use on my back, tho...]

I thought the design was innovative with the simultaneous/opposite rotational knobs. It is very light weight, easy to turn on-off; user-friendly.

I now have flat feet due to plantar fasciae release surgery so I had no trouble getting it to touch my 'arch' Yet, I do believe it could help more people if there was a setting to maybe raise the middle inset of rotating knobs for high arches.

I thought the edge was not quite right of an angle to rest in a comfortable manner while sitting on my couch nor in a chair in my dining room, nor my office chair. It was a good idea to include this though as it could help feet from slipping. I just didn't get the right angle & it kept me from being able to relax my ankles thus my feet.

I live with my mom who gave this foot massager to me. She has tried it and she likes the product a lot. So it was not a complete waste.

I just wanted to write this review for other neuropthy sufferes who may be contemplating getting one of these units for themselves. I would say to try one in the store first, if possible. I received as a gift so I had not tried it before.

Also, I would be interested if Brookstone had a similar product. I find their products to be of better quality than HoMedics' products.

Product Review: Good But Broke After 2-3 Months
Summary: 3 Stars

The massage felt good. Ticklish at first, but you get use to it. Heating wasn't very warm at all. The motor broke after 2-3 months of use. At $35, I don't know if it's worth it to send it back to Manufacturer to get it fix.

Product Review: Gotta Have One
Summary: 4 Stars

I'm on my third one of these. For the price I have not found anything that will massage my feet like this. I hope these foot pleaser machines are always available.

Product Review: Great Father's Day Gift!
Summary: 5 Stars

This was purchased as a gift for my father and he loved it. He loves having his feet massaged so this was the perfect gift for him. He said he and his girlfriend were fighting over who got to use it next! I suggested Rock/Paper/Scissors to decide! :-)
