I had a recurring skin infection (staph), which would go away for a couple of weeks with antibiotics, but it would always return. It eventually stopped responding to one antibiotic, then another, and then we all got scared. Finally, one nurse suggested I start using Hibiclens just on that one spot in the shower for a few days to see what happened. It went away almost immediately! After a few days, I felt a little prickle, which indicated it was back, so I did the Hibiclens thing again, and it disappeared.
As it turns out, I will probably always carry staph, and at different points in my life, it will return. With this product, though, I can keep it under control and (finally!) be comfortable. I don't go anywhere without it.
Description of Hibiclens Antimicrobial & Antiseptic Skin Cleanser 32oz
HIBICLENS is an antiseptic antimicrobial skin cleanser possessing bactericidal activities. HIBICLENS contains 4% w/v chlorhexidine gluconate, with inactive ingredients: Fragrance, isopropyl alcohol 4%, purified water, Red 40, and other ingredients, in a mild, sudsing base adjusted to pH 5.0-6.5 for optimal activity and stability as well as compatibility with the normal pH of the skin.Therapeutic Skin Care
