Product Review: High-Quality Scale But Buyer Beware

I took a chance on this scale because it was priced so unbelievably low. After reading the most negative review, I decided that could not happen to me. Well, it did. My scale was an obvious return. The instruction booklet and the conversion chart had smudges and certain items showed they were disassembled. In hindsight, I should not have accepted the box when I saw it had tape on it. A screw and nut fell out of the bag that held the base. The base, according to the instruction book, was supposed to be completely assembled upon arrival. It would be nearly impossible for anyone to put the base together if it came unassembled. My base arrived broken. It appears the top part is OK. Fortunately for me I called the manufacturer who agreed to send a new base. I am now waiting for the new base to arrive. I believe the scale will be great once assembled and it looks exactly like the one at my doctor's office. I really hope the new base solves my problems in I won't know if anything else is wrong until I assemble the scale. I am disappointed with this particular purchase although I like the model I chose. One thing I do not agree with is the negative opinion that it is bulky. Of course it is. That is a plus. It's supposed to be heavy duty, professional. If you prefer, there is another model that comes with wheels for about $20 more.

Being sick of inaccurate scales, I purchased these platform scales. How wonderful to know, you'll weigh the same on the doctors scale. My heafty dughter can weigh herself & therfore has no excuses. Product Review: I wish I actually weighed 50 lbs less!!

With all the excellent reviews, I guess I was expecting more... first, the quality wasn't there. The overall appearance was rather "flimsy". After assembly (the instructions are NOT the greatest), the scale was balanced to zero but would weigh everybody over 50 lbs less than they actually were. After calling the manufacturer and trying all the tips they could suggest, there was just no way to fix this problem. I guess I just received a lemon but I wouldn't have purchased it to begin with if I saw it "in person" before ordering. I'm heading to a medical supply store next to see EXACTLY what I'm buying next time.

I purchased this based on other Amazon customer reviews. I was not disappointed. This scale is every bit as good as everyone else on here is saying. At first glance, the purchase price may seem a bit high, but it is actually a good value when you consider what you're getting. I would expect to pay much more for a professional quality scale like this one. If you further consider how much money you've wasted on cheaper but inaccurate scales, you'll see that this one is a much better investment.
