Product Reviews of Health o Meter HAP200KD-41 Professional Dial Scale, Black and WhiteProduct Review: Its Big Summary: 4 Stars
Its big and sturdy enough to weigh just about anything. Ever tried to weigh a big dog at home? Pick up the dog and stand on the scale read the weight. Get off the scale put the dog down get back on the scale read the weight. Subtract the second weight from the first to get the weight of the dog... Simple eh ;0) I was very surprised about the quality of this scale I'd have expected to have paid 4 or more times the price for this unit. Seriously you can't beat it.
Product Review: Large but good quality Summary: 4 Stars
This is a large scale that takes up a bit of floor space but it is more reliable than any digital scale I've ever had. It's very helpful to put a strip of sticky note or colored tape on the scale where you put your heels so that you are able to stand in exactly the same place every time you step on, because your position on the scale can make your weight reading vary by up to 4 pounds. I'm not looking for absolute accuracy, but consistency is important. As long as you're standing in the same spot on the scale the readings are very consistent. When you step off the scale make sure the dial goes back to zero. It's easy to adjust. I'd recommend this scale to everyone.
Product Review: Large, Very Large, be prepared for its size Summary: 4 Stars
If you have a smaller bathroom or vanity area, be warned this is a big scale. I used a tiny digital for years until it died. However, my 6'2 hubby had trouble with the itsy-bitsy scale. This one he can use easily. You have to make sure to check the 0 each time but overall the weight is roughly constant. A pound or two off if you don't reset it now and again. 4 star, would recommend for taller men/women.
Product Review: Limitations of spring-scale technology Summary: 3 Stars
I usually weigh myself on the doctor's scale at the gym, and I guess I had forgotten the limitations of spring-scale technology. The HAP200KD-41 is sturdy, the dial is easy to read, but the reading can fluctuate by 2 lb or more if you shift your stance. Very annoying when you are trying to monitor weight loss that is probably in the 2 lb per week range. I gave up and bought a digital, having realized that digital technology has improved greatly since I last tried it in a bathroom scale.
Product Review: Massive in size Summary: 5 Stars
My wife loves this scale, it is very consistent. Our previous digital scale would give five different readings in succession. With this analog model the readings are repeatable and there are no batteries to replace. It seems to be rugged, is easy to read, and maintains it's zero very well. Personally, I try to stay off of scales. The hole that my belt buckle fits into is my best indicator of weight gain/loss. Amazon has an excellent price, I paid $30, and with free shipping to boot.
