Product Review: Happy with my happy light!

I have had my happy light for years and just love it. I use it every morning for about an hour or so. I can attest that it does help with SAD or other seasonal mood disorders. People complain about how "cheap" it is made, but it just sits on the tabletop, so it's not going to break unless if you drop it! I have had no problem with mine and have not yet had to replace the light bulb. I recommend it to all of my friends. This handy tabletop buddy is reasonably priced and small enough to take up minimal space and leaves you feeling great! Last week, I placed the Verilux HappyLight in my cubicle at work. We had recently played musical cubes in my office, and I found myself without any view of a window for the first time in 3 years. Fearing that the lack of natural light during the day and the rapidly approaching early sunsets of autumn and winter would drive me to depression, I decided to give this light a try.
I set it up on my desk as directed, about a foot from my face, and turned it on. My goodness, was it ever bright! It took a little while for my eyes to adjust to its brightness. I used to think that my monitors glowed brightly, but they, like everything else, seemed drab by comparison.
A few hours into that first workday with the HappyLight, I heard a knock on the entrance to my cubicle. A small child in a gauzy white dress stood there, staring wide-eyed at my HappyLight.
"I saw the light from down the hall," the child said. "What is it? Is it ... an angel?"
"No," I replied. "It's just a very bright light. See?" I moved over a little bit so the little girl could take a closer look.
She peered at the light very carefully for a few moments.
"You're wrong," the girl finally said. "Look again. It *is* an angel."
I peered a bit more closely into the white light, looking for whatever it was that this little girl clearly saw. I turned to look back at her questioningly, but she was gone.
"Wait!" I shouted, standing up and peering out of my cube. But no one was there. Had the child been there at all? Had she disappeared into thin air?
I shrugged, feeling a bit bewildered, and hunkered back down at my desk, basking in the ethereal glow of my HappyLight.

This product functions fine. It is used in the bathroom every morning, but it is difficult to determine after only one month of use if it actually reduces depression on overcast, cold, winter days. This product is amazing. Turn it on, and fill the entire room with a soft glow that will change your mood for the better instantly. It might be a bit intense when you first turn it on, but you'll get used to it very quickly. The lamp was easy to put together, and has two different settings of lighting intensity. The light emitted is very easy on the eyes, and is excellent for reading, computing, or any everyday task. The unit also uses very little power and has a small footprint.
Everybody should get one of these, especially if you have Seasonal Anxiety Disorder. It works, bottom line.
