Product Reviews of Happy Dog Toys Thing in a Bag For Cats 1eaProduct Review: My cat was scared out of its wits but maybe yours will like it? Summary: 2 Stars
I have a very playful cat, he's 11 months old. Maybe it's his personal thing, but this bag scared he heck out of him. His fur just poofed up. Once it rattled, he ran away, but he stayed curious. Over 15 minutes he took baby steps toward the bag, whenever the bag shook, he'd jump back.
I tried to pet him to reassure him but he was so jumpy that he literally jumped 3 feet into the air. Then he accidentally bumped into a pair of slippers sitting nearby and jumped some more. My boyfriend tried to get him used to it, just the site of the bag and my boyfriend pretending to play with it made him jump again.
Maybe it will work out for more daring cats?
Product Review: My cats weren't interested Summary: 2 Stars
I thought my cats would go crazy for this. When one of them gets inside a paper bag and moves and rattles it the other ones love to pounce on it, but they just were not interested. They looked at it for a few minutes and then walked away. They would have enjoyed an empty paper bag or box more.
Product Review: Not Great But Good Summary: 4 Stars
We bought this along with the Panic Mouse for our cats/kittens. It's too big for the kittens to play with and the adult cats just get the heck scared out of them from it. It stops moving and just as they get close it moves..making them jump and us laugh. The adult cats will try pawing at it while it's quiet but then run when it's moving.
It looks like the "crinkle" noise was from the ball inside that either has bubble wrap or some type of plastic wrap on it. Haven't taken it out to look yet. But I bet you could put some type of crinkly stuff in the bag to help.
It's ok..but the cats don't really "play" with it...we are going to see what the dogs do with it next. IF it survives we will let you know! It might be a good dog toy instead!
Product Review: Novelty wears off quickly Summary: 2 Stars
Our cats found this very interesting and played with it a lot - for a couple of days. Now they look at it for a few seconds and walk away. They get more (long lasting) joy from a 99 cent catnip mouse.
Product Review: Short Attention... Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this for my youngest cat Loki, aka: "the Little Monster". At first he was very interested and attacked it several times, but after awhile he realized it wasn't going to do anything else. I placed one of those cheap plastic jingle balls inside so every time it vibrated you could hear the ball, but that didn't keep his attention for long either. Maybe another day or two. My two other cats just don't care at all. The fat one only seems to be interested in watching the little monster play with it, and my calico completely ignores it. Like I said, I bought it for the younger one since he has endless energy (he was born wild, but bottle fed).
If you have cats that will basically attack anything, maybe they will play with this, but will likely lose interest in it fast. Maybe if you stash it away for a few months then bring it back out they will be interested, but with the amount of batteries that it takes and the short attention span of most cats, it maybe isn't worth it. All three of my cats are much more enthused with non-electronic toys that require me to move them, and they are usually cheaper.
