Product Reviews of Gu Energy Gel Vanilla Bean 24 pcktsProduct Review: Good variety Summary: 5 StarsLike most users of GU, I run marathons. I chose this package because I wanted to find a flavor that I could stomach later in a race and this let me experiment. This package has eight separate flavors: orange, vanilla, espresso, berry, lemon-lime, chocolate, banana, and plain. I won't comment on the taste because that is an individual preference, however, I do prefer GU to Clif Shots, which to me are pastier and harder to get down without a good amount of water.
Product Review: Tastes Great! Summary: 5 StarsNot only does gu gel give you the energy that you need but the chocolate outrage tastes great! Sometimes with other energy gels and flavors I cringe when I take it but with this one I actually look forward to it!
Product Review: GU Energy Gel - Great for sports atheletes Summary: 5 StarsI was introduced to this product by an AYSO referee when my daughter collapsed on the field during a game. He gave her the GU and within 5 minutes, she was back to being able to perform on the field. We have been using it ever since.
Product Review: Tastes just like Betty Crocker frosting Summary: 5 StarsOf all energy gels, the chocolate Gu has to be the best. Chocolate Gu tastes just like cake frosting...mmmmm. It stands on its own and would be a worthwhile dessert.
Drink plenty of water with this one. I've found that the chocolate flavor requires just a little more water to wash it down...must be the frosting texture.
After my first experience with Chocolate Outrage Gu, I experimented with a Ziploc bag full of Betty Crocker frosting. It had the same effect, but was a bit messy.
Product Review: Gu To Go Summary: 4 StarsI have tried many gels also. Gu gel is not my favorite, I actually prefer the consistency of PowerGel, but the variety pack offered by Gu makes me buy more. PowerGel sells only 1 variety, and you end up with an entire box of the SAME gel. I like Strawberry-Banana PowerGel and all, but 24 of them is a bit much. For the most part, Gu gel is good tasting, and I agree that Espresso Love is the best. The plain is ... well ... plain, but the chocolate and berry are also good. Like I said, I prefer the consistency of PowerGel better because it is easier to get down when you are running and sucking on a gel packet, a little thicker. If you haven't tried gels, Gu is a good start, and if you want a runnier gel, this may be the one for you.
