Customer Review: Huge improvement over regular GU Gel

I cycle at least 2 hours everyday in normally extreme Houston, Texas heat and humidity, and for the past 3 months have been taking 3-4 packets of normal GU energy gel w/ caffeine. It definitely has helped me sustain energy, but I was interested to see if ROCTANE (man, what an embarrassing name) made a difference in my performance.
First and foremost, I bought the blueberry pomegranate flavor and it tasted great to me. Not only did I prefer the taste over all the normal GU I've tried by the consistency was MUCH more palatable. It wasn't nearly as thick and went down without making your mouth feel extremely sticky like the normal version which is a huge plus when you're in the middle of an exercise. The calorie count is the same as normal GU but there must be more water in it.
As for performance, I didn't feel a huge performance gain at the start of cycling although I did feel more energetic given that this has about twice the amount of caffeine as the regular. Not until later did I experience the beauty of this stuff. After about 50 minutes I took a second packet and soon after felt a huge improvement in stamina versus normal GU. Usually after an hour of hard cycling in heat indexes around 110 I slow down considerably, but with this product I was able to keep my pace for the entire outing and absolutely kill my best previous times done in temperatures much cooler. I've used this product for 3 cycling outings so far and each time felt the same massive improvement. I'd definitely recommend this if you're looking for a very noticeable performance boost.
