Customer Review: Classic still worth it's weight in gold

I purchased a really nice backpacking tent. I like to protect the bottom of tents with a ground cloth that prevents wear and keeps ground moisture at bay. The footprint sold for the tent was three times the cost of this item and was nothing more than a piece of plastic-coated tent material. Really? Just to have four grommets and a made-to-order piece of nylon?
I recalled the Space Blanket that I had used to sleep in my igloo and how it kept the moisture from reaching my sleeping bag, and the many other uses it provided. And for 1/3 the price of the footprint it just made sense. It packs down to a small and light package, and works great.
My first outing was in 28-degree (F) weather. I was warm, dry and the tent packed away just as clean as the day I bought it. Hard to feel bad about spending this money!
Don't hesitate to purchase this item - it's reasonably tough, light weight, and very effective!
