Since I started using this product a few years ago I have since grown somewhat attached to it. That is a bit of an understatement...if I can't use it for more than a few days I become depressed and a little bit listless. I go through withdrawals.
First of all, I use it to treat itchy scalp. If you have an infection or dry skin or just plain psoriasis it can effectively treat those conditions, perhaps even cure them. It can cure toenail fungus if you are consistent with applying it once or twice a day for a long while. I have applied it directly to my skin in liberal amounts for years now without any side effects whatsoever. After I get out of the shower I use a glass dropper (don't use plastic, it'll melt) to get enough to cover my entire scalp. Then I use a cotton swab to apply it to other more delicate areas. I sometimes use it for mild acne. It is great for that too because it doesn't dry my skin out like most acne treatments.
The only negative thing I know about it is that I have to be careful when I put it on my face and other exposed areas of skin. Stepping into the sunlight for even ten minutes turns me bright red! Also, I read that it shouldn't be put into the ears as it can damage the hairs on the eardrum, causing deafness. I still put it on my ears but am careful not to get any inside the ear canal.
It has a pretty powerful aroma. I guess it is sort of spicy smelling. I put a dab in my nostrils whenever I get an infection. In a few days, I am cured. I bet I could replace deodorant, moisturizers, and mouthwash (diluted of course) with this. It is sort of a panacea for me. Not sure what I'd do without it!
