Customer Review: Discontinued use after 1 week due to intestinal distress

I bought this product at a local health food store because it was on sale. I started taking it on a Wednesday. I felt a bit queasy over the next day or two, but thought nothing of it. Friday evening I had a dramatic bout of diarrhea that completely cleaned me out. I assumed I had eaten something funky, but couldn't think what it was. The following day, Saturday, I canceled my planned hour-long road trip to visit friends in the city because I still felt queasy, and didn't want to be too far from a bathroom. But nothing happened, presumably because there wasn't anything left in me after Friday night. My next bowel movement was Monday, and again it was dramatic diarrhea that completely emptied me out. Tuesday I realized that I had recently started taking this supplement, and that the label said that it contained live probiotics. I stopped taking the product, and my queasiness went away and I've had no further diarrhea.
Of course, I can't be 100% sure that the supplement caused my problem. But the facts that the problem started within 2 days of beginning use of the product, and that the problem stopped as soon as I stopped taking it, were enough to cause me to stop taking it and switch to another brand. Maybe it was just a coincidence, maybe I just got a bad bottle, maybe the product wasn't properly stored in shipment or at the store (do live probiotics need to be refrigerated?), .... But this was my experience with the product, so I thought I'd share it.
FYI, here's the relevant quote from the label: "RAW Food-Created Nutrients [TM] are cultivated with live probiotics, antioxidants, enzymes and nutrient-specific peptides for targeted delivery and natural recognition of nutrients by your body." Also FYI, my bottle was from lot B0011, and expires 02/2012, so it's (hopefully!) not too old.
