I've been using these diapers since my daughter was born 9 months ago. For the first 4 months we used cloth and g-diapers and then switched to only g-diapers. We've also occasionally used disposables on vacation.
These diapers have worked really well for us although we know that's not the case for everyone who tried them. I have been the recipient of several g-diapers that other people tried and gave up on. Apparently they don't work well on smaller babies, skinny legs, or chubby babies. They are also very inconvient if your baby poops several times in a day and soils the cover every time (might as well use cloth). Our daughter is average to skinny and has been a pretty solid once a day pooper so they have worked really well for us. Also remember... things change quickly so don't give up if your baby has skinny legs now, or poops 4 times a day. Wait a month and try again.
Pros
VERY absorbant- we can easily change her less frequently than with regular disposables
Less diaper rash- we had lots of diaper rash with cloth. It all cleared up when we switched to g-diapers
Fewer blowouts than with disposables (Yes for us it was way fewer)
Super Cute
Easier than cloth and not much harder than disposables once you get used to it
Cons
Expensive
Smallest size doesn't last very long. It might be worth waiting to start g-diapers until your baby is big enough to fit into the mediums. (3-4 months)
Watery poo- more likely to leak and covers need to be washed more frequently.
Velcro becomes less sticky with time despite using the wash tabs
Flushing is not as simple as it says, but can be done
