Product Reviews of Futuro Sport Deluxe Ankle Stabilizer, One Size Adjustable (Pack of 2)Product Review: Review for Futuro Sport Deluxe Ankle Stabilizer, One Size Adjustable (Pack of 2) Summary: 5 Stars
I got them in the mail. Two boxes came in. Both work great and do their jobs. Quality material and wish I had them all along. A+++++
Product Review: So far so good Summary: 5 Stars
I got this product a bit over 6 months ago. I had sprained my left ankle terribly playing basketball, and it took over 5 months to recover. And I finally wanted to get back to my sport, Tennis. There is way too much lateral movement in Tennis, so I decided I had to get this brace in order to prevent any further injuries.
The brace is very comfortable it will feel awkward for the first few days, but once you get past it, you won't even feel it being there, meaning it just won't bother you. I had never even twisted my ankle, as in the brace hadn't had the need to stop my ankle from twisting. I guess that means it's working. Just yesterday I sprained my right ankle although not as badly, not even swollen, and realized that I probably should use both of the braces that I ordered. I got the two pack of this product.
The brace itself is quite durable, have been using it for over 6 months, and velcro seems to hold up quite well. It's got this semi hard plastic that prevents the ankle sprains. Well designed and very comfortable, pretty dam good for tennis, if it's good for tennis should be good for pretty much anything.
Wear the brace over the socks, try not to wear those ankle socks. I wear the brace sometimes with the ankle socks, once again it might bother you for the first couple of days, but it's fine after. And get two and wear them on both ankles, because you are prone to spraining again if you have sprained the ankle before.
UPDATE: Been 11 months since the purchase of this product. Still excellent, I use both of them now. Pretty good for tennis, its main purpose. It protects you, but not so much that it restricts your movement. There aren't many sports that involves a lot of lateral movement than tennis and basketball. It works great for tennis, so it will be good for just about anything. The velcro has held up very nicely, after 11 months of use, I use it maybe twice a week, more so before, but not much anymore. My ankles feel strong enough, to not use this anymore, but might as well be safe for another year, than not be able to play.
Product Review: Sturdy! Summary: 4 Stars
So far i've used this for about 2 weeks when I play ball, it feels secure & gives good ankle support when you make cuts or change of direction. Make sure you wear a sock under it though because it does irritate the skin until you break it in. Overall, it works great!
Product Review: Work great Summary: 5 Stars
I have been using these now for 2 years. No more sprained ankles. They do work. A bit costly, but cheaper than a sprained or broken ankle.
If you have ankle problems, these are the ones for you.
Product Review: Works for me Summary: 5 Stars
The Futuro Sport Deluxe Ankle Stabilizer sort of surprised me. First, the price for a two pack of them (about $24) looked like a real, bargain to me so I figured I wouldn't be out a lot to try the brace(s). Next, when I got the ankle braces I was surprised at their quality and how easily one went on. I wear all sorts of shoes and boots with the brace and there is no problem with it being overly bulky.
I am an old guy weighing over 200 pounds and I have had trouble with my left ankle for years. The ankle just rolled over as the result of an age related weakened arch. I have been wearing prescription orthotics to lift the arch and realign my ankle for a long time. Those worked for awhile, but as the years went by, my ankle again became painful and swollen. I was left with taking aspirin and other pain pills whenever I went walking for any length of time.
I was told by my orthopedist that an operation might fix my problem or I could choose to wear an expensive custom brace that would reach to my knee. I was not fond of either alternative and that is when I started researching over the counter braces and stabilizers.
I discovered lots of them. Some were huge. Some were very expensive and many laced up like a toeless boot. A few were merely elastic bandages that wrapped around the ankle. They were mostly ugly and mostly designed for athletes or people recovering from injuries. I finally narrowed my search to the Futuro Sport Deluxe Ankle Stabilizer and a more expensive one called the AirCast AirSport Ankle Brace, both with Velcro fastening systems.
I picked the Futuro product mostly because it was cheaper and it was a `one size fits all' brace that worked on either ankle. I didn't know if any of the ankle braces on the market would help me and my decision to go with the less costly item was an experiment more than anything else.
After using the Futuro Stabilizer for a few days the swelling in my ankle disappeared and the pain was gone.
Now, after wearing the brace for several months I find myself putting it on every day, even if I will just be sitting home in my recliner. This product works for me.
