These earplugs are basically little bricks of cotton and wax. Like, greasy, wet wax. Not something I want to stick in my ear. They're also very hard and uncomfortable. The Flents foam earplugs work much better, are more comfortable and they aren't messy like these. I don't know who designed these but they're terrible.Product Review: No more itching ears!

I wear ear plugs every night to bed because of 2 young boys that work 2nd shift and make noise late into the night. I was wearing foam plugs made by the same company every night, but wearing these night after night started to cause dermatological problems in the ear canal, itching and scaling, etc. Once I switched over to these "waxy" plugs, that all went away. Unfortunately, they don't stay as tight in the ear as the foam plugs do, but they do stay in the ear. They just need to be resituated occasionally during the night. They can be reused for several nights very easily too. The foam plugs do a slightly better job of blocking out noise, but not enough to bother me.Product Review: Product quality down the tubes (and I don't mean eustachean)

I've been using these earplugs for many years. They've enabled me to sleep soundly by totally blocking out most noise, and I take them to rock concerts to lower my personal decibels. These WERE the best on the market. However, this last batch had less wax, which mostly wasn't enough to bind well to the cotton, so they didn't mold very well or stay in my ear. The center of the earplug seemed to be just stiff cotton... not exactly the most comfortable for sleeping. Several in each of the two packages I ordered were absolute duds due to having too little wax. In the past, I could break each earplug in half and use half in each ear, and they molded well to the ear. I might get one or two duds per package, but this last order was awful. I see that other recent reviewers have noticed this, also. In sum: the product's not very good anymore -- too little wax. FIX IT!!Product Review: Review of earplugs

These wax and cotton earplugs are terrific. They keep out noise better than foam earplugs and are less irritating to the ear than silicon earplugs. I recommend them to anyone.
