The plastic starts to break down and you'll find little bits of plastic mixed in with your pills. The plastic on the inside is blue, and little blue bits mix in with pills. We all know that plastic has harmful chemicals in it. It's very hard to pick out the little plastic bits!Product Review: splitter not the best

I bought this item for the crusher only. It doesn't hurt my hands when I am crushing a pill. But for pill splitting, buy something else. You can't center the pill right under the blade and cuts unevenly.
