Product Review: FINALLY!

I'm definitely a protein-smoothie in the morning kind of guy, so for the past few years I've been beating the heck out of my cheapo Ikea milk frothers to mix up my drinks.
Once I started trying out different kinds of protein powders (natural whey isolate without all the usual instantizers, pea protein, hemp protein, etc), i was ending up with nasty sand-balls and clumps no matter how thoroughly I stirred or mixed with the frother. Cleaning a big blender is kind of a pain and it's not much of a help when I just want a single serving drink on the go.
This little guy was the perfect solution.
It has a slightly stronger motor than the other battery-powered mixers/frothers I've tried, and the detachable mixing utensils actually flare out from centrifugal force to reach the bottom corners of the glass very nicely. It's pretty fast too... drinks are mixed in no time at all, and cleanup is a snap. It can handle lots of supplements/powders without slowing down one bit.
To make it even better for an on-the-go lifestyle, there are 2 included mixing utensils and a carrying case that snaps shut.
I might eventually purchase a second one just to have a backup in case the motor dies one day...

First of all, let me say that I bought this for mixing baby formula. While it's not perfectly suited for that task, I believe the remarks I have for this product are still relevant.
The mixer spins very quickly, and the longer it runs, the more effective it is. This is because, as it spins, centrifugal force causes the fork to "spread" creating a wider mixing element. So, let it run for a couple seconds and it begins to mix more and more vigorously.
For my application, it's too vigorous. It introduces a lot of air into the liquid. This might not matter for adults, but for babies, it defeats the purpose of using a mixer instead of shaking (namely, avoiding air bubbles). A way around this is to only briefly power on the mixer (you might say, "bumping" the power on and off a few times so it never reaches full velocity).
All of this is fine - the one area I think it needs improvement, however, is the inclusion of a longer mixing arm. I found it fairly short for most of my sports bottles. Not prohibitively, but it would be much more comfortable to use if the mixing element were longer.

I just love the way I can get my entire packet of hot chocolate mix or hot apple cider mix stirred into the hot water. The flavor is richer and there is no wasted chocolate at the bottom. I can add Cool Whip and get a special frothy chocolate drink. If your cup is small, watchout for splashes. I've been looking for a small, travel-size mixer for making my son's formula bottles. I found this one and figured I'd give it a try. I love it! It speeds up making bottles - not having to shake 'em anymore. I also like how it comes with a travel case - definitely convenient! It's nice and small that, when the mixing wand is detached, it's as small as my cell phone. I definitely recommend this product!
