I ordered this product about a month ago having absolutely no experience with charting my cycle or even knowing the timeline within a cycle (having been on birth control for 12 years.)The product is simple to use and easy to read. It comes with a chart and directions with example pictures to compare your results to. I have found that rather than looking directly into the center area lit up by the green light, it is easier to see the ferning pattern in the shadow area around the light. Also, make sure you do this first thing in the morning prior to eating or drinking anything. I put the saliva sample on the glass, get into the shower, and it's ready to read upon exiting the shower, so it takes no additional time in the morning. I have to admit, I was a little skeptical about this product. I didn't think I'd be able to read it and it wouldn't give me what I was looking for. I used it my first cycle after getting it and I was surprised how easy it was to use. It was also very easy to see where in my cycle I was based on just my saliva alone. This product is neat, I can definitely see the ferning. Problem is that the ferning appears almost everyday of my cycle. I don't believe that I could be that fertile. Not sure why this would occur, following instructions explicitly. While it is fun to see the ferns, don't feel like I can rely on it.
