This is accurate and easy to use....I don't know why there are any negatives on this...But, as far as accuracy goes its pretty much on the money. On 2 seperate occasions I have taken it to the doctors office and taken the temperature after the nurse. The first time it was on the money same as the nurses reading and the second time it was (.1) degree off. The nurses showed 99.8 and this device showed 99.7---I don't know about you but .1 degree off is pretty darn accurate to me and the nurse agreed as well. If U are getting inaccurate readings or the sweating issue---try taking it with u when you go to the doctor. The nurses are great with these things because they use them all the time. Also, be sure to READ the instructions and the entire manual carefully. I read mine twice just be sure I complete understood how it works. Also, you cannot compare an armpit reading to a forehead reading---it's not going to be the same temperature I don't care what type of device you are using. Boby temperatures will vary based on the location of area you are taking the temperature per my pediatrician. He also gave me a copy of a chart for normal temperature readings based on age and the location of where the temperature is taken. So, if you take a armpit temp., mouth temp., or forehead temp.---the temps. will vary some based on where you take the temperature...this is a proven medical fact. So, far I'm totally satified with this product and I've owned it almost a year...I have 7 month old and 3 year old and the beeping is not an issue with them. Love it and will buy another one even if this one goes bad.Product Review: Every home should have one.

I am glad I bought this thermometer: it's so easy to use! And the readings are very constant. And it doesn't need disposable probe covers. And it is not expensive. Yes,it would be nice to have a couple of extra features: memory of previous measurements, black-lit display, larger display and easier switch from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Great Product... Easy to use, very accurate, and Best of all you can use it on a sleeping child with out waking them. Highly recommend
