I have a small home safe that I have been fighting humidity problems in for the past two years in my home. My humidistat always registered over 70% Relative humidity... which is fine for a humidor, but not for documents.
I put this unit in two weeks ago, and the safe has been dry and reading 45% ever since. Great product, excellent price.

I bought this for my safe. Living in North Florida the humidity affects my important papers with mildew smell and renewing this by just plugging into the wall for a few hours is very convenient. This dehumidifer was installed with a EDV-500 in my gun safe. This is an overkill but I wanted them to get any moisture out of the safe. It has been 30 days and the color has started to change, all appears to be working fine. The safe is in my garage which has a potential for more moisture than the house. I only had it for about a week and it showed no sign of doing anything when I accidently knocked it off the counter and beads went everywhere. Trust me, you are not going to get the beads back in the box.
