After breaking my right foot 5th metatarsal my orthopedist said I would need a knee scooter to really be non weight bearing for 6-8 weeks. At 60 and never having used crutches he was right. With rentals at $140- $160 per month purchase seemed wise. It is well engineered and very high quality craftmanship. have a broken foot, in my 60's, crutches were making my life miserable and after 2 wks my injury was worse. doc says... stay off or stay broke. so i researched walkers. only thing i could find in town were not steerable. this walker is just what i needed. i am doing 2 miles a day outside with my dog now and i can also get anywhere in my house. i'm not a bit sorry for what i paid.. if my foot will heal faster... what price would i pay for that? It's built strong and durable. the wheels are what give me my freedom. And.... it was delivered UPS to my house in 2 days. i put it together by myself. i love it! if you are active... this is what you need.
