I started buying ground flaxseed as a nutritional supplement (primarily for Omega-3 and lignans) to put on my cereal or oatmeal every morning and grew to really enjoy the subtly nutty taste. I've always bought the Spectrum brand ground flaxseed since it seems super-fresh. I keep it in my refrigerator after opening and it stays fresh to the bottom of the bag. A nice side benefit (and I notice no reviewer has mentioned this yet), is increased, um, regularity!
