Product Review: Fast and Convenient -- Works as Advertized, Even With Eneloop

This charger has a few advantages over other battery chargers on the market. As the name implies, the charging speed is much faster (about 8x) than typical models. Yet, as other reviewers mentioned, the fan continues to below for several minutes after the charging has completed so one can argue that with appropriate cooling, the total time is longer than the 15 minutes stated by the manufacturer. Even so, it operates dramatically faster than other chargers I have tested.

In addition to its rapid charging ability, this charger differs from most chargers in its ability to charge one to four batteries, which do not need to be paired. If you have devices with three batteries, you will find this feature particularly helpful. Unfortunately, the manufacturer chose to have only one status LED for all four battery slots, so the user has no easy way of determining which battery is bad or fully charged.

This charger has worked well with a number of NiMh batteries, including slow self-discharge Eneloop AA and AAA batteries. However, it appears to be having problems charging my Duracell 2650 mah AA batteries. These are the best AA batteries I have ever used but have exhibited what appear to be false bad battery indications with other chargers too. It may be that this model of battery has a capacity so large that it confuses the chargers' circuitry, including the Energizer 15 minute charger.

In total, the Energize 15 minute charger is superior to other chargers I have used. It is an excellent choice for those users who do not wish to wait the typical two hours of charging time required by conventional chargers.

Product Review: Fast charger, but not for use it worldwide

I have this charger for over a year now, and it still works perfectly. It is the fastest charger I've ever used, it does charge the batteries in 15 minutes, as promised. It does detect bad batteries, and it allows you to charge even 1, 2, 3 or 4 batteries at the same time. The only con I have with this charger is its A/C adapter, which is kinda bulky, and it does not work with 240V. So you only get to use it if you have 120V at home, and of course you cannot take it to a trip to Europe, and the worst part is that Eneregizer does not sell an A/C adapter for 240V so you are stock with it in 120V.

For me this is important as I would like to take it with me on my constant trips to Europe because of its small size and fast charging rate, but unfortunately, it seems energizer people do not care about this. I'm presuming this as I wrote to their customer service about this issue 3 or 4 time and still waiting for an answer.

I've had this charger for about a year and I've been very pleased with it. I bought it to charge mainly AA batteries that I use in my digital camera, ham radio and scanner. The charge time is approximately 15 - 20 minutes and I've been happy with how long the batteries last in these devices. The only real con is that this is a pretty pricey device but you can save a few bucks if you shop around. In the end it's worth it as I have read many poor reviews of similar but less expensive products. This charger has overcharge protection and other features that make it worth it. Recommended.
